5 Questions That Reveal Business Opportunities

5 Questions That Reveal Business Opportunities - To increase profits for solopreneurs and agency owners!

There's a common mistake rookie creators make with their online business — they underestimate the amount of volume they need to make sales.

They'll post 5 times a week, send 1 email to their list and send 0 DMs to ideal clients. Then wonder why their digital products didn't sell or why they got 0 inbound leads.

Quick tip for the newer founders: increase your volume. A LOT.

Launching a product? Send an email every day leading up to release.

Selling a high ticket service? Send 10+ DMs a day to ideal clients.

Volume will be your difference maker — leading to more sales and more feedback!

But what if you're not a rookie? What if you're an experienced founder making at least $100k per year?

To increase your profits it's likely not a matter of volume, but a matter of strategy. Since we need to get a little more creative, I have several thought provoking questions I propose to my clients.

Here are 5 questions to ask yourself that will improve your business:

1) What would you have to do to 5x your price without increasing the time you spend on each client?

You don't always have to increase deliverables to charge more money.

You do have to offer more value or change the positioning of your offer.

- Maybe you target a different audience
- Maybe you tap deeper into your USP
- Maybe you uncover an even bigger problem to market

This question will lead you to areas you never previously considered.

2) If you had to grow profit by 50% without increasing revenue, what would you do?

Many clients I serve as part of my financial operations consulting firm struggle with bloated costs. It's the first step I take after reviewing their income statements.

Some things to look out for:

Do you have tools that serve a similar purpose? For example: a solopreneur wouldn't need Kajabi and thrive cart. Larger orgs don't need Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Can you eliminate a contractor and replace it with a tool? Sometimes eliminating a tool isn't the answer, but adding to your tech stack is the right call. If you're paying $1,000 a month for a contractor but a SaaS tool can do the same thing for $49, make the change.

Review your entire tech stack, team, and income statement. Uncover all sorts of creative opportunities to improve your profits.

3) If you took a 3 month vacation and had someone else run your business, what would you teach them to keep it afloat?

The 80-20 rule: 80% of outputs come from 20% of inputs.

This question will allow you to reflect on the 20% of inputs required to actually run your business.

Now you can start eliminating anything unnecessary.

4) If you had to automate one task you currently do manually, what would it be?

This will give you the map to automate a task you previously thought was impossible.

Hello, time freedom!

More importantly, this will highlight something you dislike to do in the first place. More enjoyable work is a key benefit here.

5) If you got a DREAM testimonial, what would it say and who would it come from?

This question will deliver so much clarity:

- On your ideal client
- The current struggles of that audience
- On the dream transformation your provide to clients

Take the answer to this question and start using that messaging on your website, in your content, and in your proposals.

Everything you create and sell will be much more targeted.

TL;DR
